What we collect, which services we use, and how to ask us to delete anything.

We collect as little as possible
You can read every guide and use every tool on this site without an account. We only use analytics cookies if you say yes, and we don't run advertising trackers.
Counting visits, only if you agree
We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which projects they read, so we know what to make next. It only runs if you press Accept on the cookie banner. If you press No thanks, Google Analytics is never loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_…, which last up to two years, and Google receives details such as the pages you view, roughly where you are (country or city), and your device and browser type. Google doesn't keep your full IP address in Google Analytics, and we don't use it for advertising. Google's own policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
We remember your choice in your browser's local storage, not a cookie. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings (also in the footer of every page). Saying no after accepting removes the analytics cookies.
Your data stays in your browser
The habit tracker, budget planner, pomodoro timer and games save your entries and high scores in your own browser (local storage). That data never reaches us, and clearing your browser data removes it.
The Where on Earth? game loads photos from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons, so those sites see a normal request from your browser when a photo loads.
If you suggest a project
When you press Send, what you typed in the suggestion form (your idea and any name or email you add) is passed to Web3Forms, a form-to-email service, which emails it to us. Web3Forms keeps a copy for up to 30 days; we keep the email only as long as we need it to consider your idea. If you tick the newsletter box, your email address also goes to Kit as above.
Fonts and hosting
Pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when a font loads. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs for security and to keep the site running.
Advertising
We don't show ads yet. If we add them, the ad provider may use cookies. We'll update this page before that happens and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
