Step-by-step projects for people who don't code
Create By Asking is a free collection of things you can make on your own computer by chatting with an AI assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini. Each guide gives you the exact prompts to paste, tells you where to save the file, and shows you how to fix it when something goes wrong.
The projects are small and useful: browser games like Snake and Breakout, everyday tools like a pomodoro timer, a habit tracker and a budget planner, a wedding website, and guides for spreadsheets at work.
Every project is built the way the guide says
- Each project on the site was made by asking an AI for it in plain English, using the same prompts the guide gives you. The working version at the top of each page is the result.
- We test the steps on Windows and Mac, using the free versions of the AI assistants, so you don't need a paid plan or any installs unless a guide says so.
- Guides list what you need, how long it takes and how hard it is, before you start.
- When AI tools change and a step stops working, we update the guide and the date on the page.
